The Basics — Non-Negotiables

These are must-follows for everyone — family, friends, and crew in the scene.

1. No Logos or Brand Names

  • Why: Logos can distract the audience, take them out of the story, and sometimes even require legal clearance.

  • Example: Avoid shirts with Nike swooshes, team jerseys, or brand text.

  • Why: Thin stripes, tight patterns, or small checks can cause a “moiré” effect (a weird wavy look) on camera.

  • Example: Skip pinstripes or tiny polka dots.

  • Why: Bright white can blow out in sunlight, and deep black can lose all detail on camera.

🎨 Color Palette — What Works Best

BEST COLORS

    • Earth tones: olive, sage, rust, mustard, sand

    • Soft pastels: peach, blush, sky blue, lavender

    • Muted jewel tones: teal, burgundy, deep green

    Avoid: neon colors, overly saturated reds or oranges (they can bleed on camera), and anything reflective or metallic.

    Tip: If you’re unsure, pick solid, muted colors that look good in natural daylight.

OUTFIT IDEAS

    • For Women: casual dresses, cardigans, blouses, jeans or skirts in soft tones

    • For Men: button-down shirts, polos, henleys, chinos or jeans

    • For Kids: simple tops, light sweaters, overalls, casual dresses — avoid cartoon characters or licensed prints
